Skillman.eu Network  launches the 5th edition of the yearly SIF – SKILLMAN.EU INTERNATIONAL FORUM 2019 on “Curriculum design, Sectoral skills development and Ethical issues on Advanced Manufacturing sector” – October 10th and 11th 2019.

In 2019, the SIF will be hosted in Florence, Italy, at the national fair on education DIDACTA, promoted by INDIRE, the National Institute for Documentation, Innovation and Educational Research of the Italian Ministry of Education.


The SKILLMAN.EU INTERNATIONAL FORUM 2019 explores the following four dimensions:

Nature, characteristics and settings of the CoVEs promoted by Skillman for a green and inclusive 'game change' in AM and sectoral skills development


Curriculum design

Innovative curriculum design in Advanced Manufacturing sector in coherence with ECVET - EQF framework and ESCO classification and innovative solutions for learning


Ethical values, green, inclusion

Capacity building synergies and collaboration to connect the competences needed for AM to the personal responsibility according to the UNESCO 17 goals


STUDY ABROAD


The Skillman cooperational model: innovative approaches and exchange of good practices in transnational mobility for education and employability

Expected Outcomes

Discussing and analysing the main challenges faced by the Advanced Manufacturing sector regarding:

  • Challenges and new approaches to design new innovative curricula

  • Interconnection and coherence of curricula and professional profiles with ECVET – EQF framework and ESCO classification

  • Advanced Manufacturing sector and responsibility according to the UNESCO 17 goals on Sustainable Development

  • social innovation, societal impact, societal challenges and ethical issues

  • policies and initiatives for sectoral skills development anticipating and matching skills and jobs

Opportunities

  • discussing relevant issues in Advanced Manufacturing in relation to VET systems, public policies, research and good practices

The  SIF – Skillman International Forum 2019  is held the 10th and the 11th of october 2019 within the DIDACTA fair

Didacta is organised by  Firenze Fiera,  together with the main institutions of the territory (Tuscany Region, Florence City Council, Chamber of Commerce of Florence) and  Didacta International , with the support of the  Italian Chamber of Commerce for Germany (Itkam)  and  Florence Convention & Visitors Bureau .

INDIRE, the National Institute for Documentation, Innovation and Educational Research of the Italian Ministry of Education is responsible for the scientific planning of Fair Didacta Italy. Fiera Didacta Italia is also supported by the  MIUR  –  Ministry of Education, Universities and Research,  the  Department of European Policies of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers , the  Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Italy , the  Italo-German Centre Villa Vigoni ,  Unioncamere  and  Assocamerestero .

To take part to any of the SIF events it is compulsory to subscribe online in advance.

Please note that nevertheless SIF is free access, to reach the SIF venue it’s necessary to own a valid ticket for admission at the DIDACTA fair of education (14 euros/day). The ticket can be bought at the entrance of the DIDACTA fair.

 Location

The  Fortezza da Basso : the only Italian exhibition area within a true Renaissance architectural masterpiece. In the centre of Florence, just a 3-minute walk from the railway station, perfect logistics location endowed with overnight accommodations facilities and parking spaces.

The infrastructures of the city and the Fair are in constant development: from spring 2018 there is a new tram stop near the main entrance of the Fortress.

Over  30,000 square meters of exhibit surface , 4 Pavilions and common areas.

VENUE

 Arriving by plane

International Airport “Amerigo Vespucci”, (code IATA FLR) is 4 km from the city centre and can be easily reached by taxi and Ataf/Sita shuttle service “Vola in bus” which connects the airport with the central railway station “Santa Maria Novella” in only 15/20 minutes.

Florence is well linked with the rest of the world through connections with Rome Fiumicino, Milan Malpensa and the main European capitals (Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, Vienna). Pisa International Airport (code IATA PSA) is 80 km from Florence city centre and is connected to the Tuscany capital by train (departure every hour) and Terravition gran turismo buses. Following the improvement of the railway line “Freccia Rossa” which connects Florence and Bologna in only 35 minutes, Bologna Airport (code IATA BLQ) is today an easy stopover to reach Florence.

 Arriving by train

Santa Maria Novella Central Station (one of the main railway junctions and interchange points of Florence public transport) is a two-minute walk from the main entrance of the da Basso Fortress, and the main reception of Firenze Fiera, placed at the ground floor of Palazzo degli Affari.

The other two railway stations of Florence (Rifredi and Campo di Marte) are 10 minutes from Santa Maria Novella Station and are well connected with local busses and scheduled busses.

 Arriving by car

Florence is connected with the main Italian cities through an efficient motorway network which leads to the city centre, where the fair district is located.

The da Basso Fortress is only 4 km from the A1 motorway (exit: Florence north or south).
