SKILLMAN AT EACEA NETWORKS AND PARTNERSHIPS OF VET PROVIDERS KICK-OFF MEETING IN BRUSSELS

On 22nd November 2019, Giovanni Crisonà, the founder of Skillman and Valentina De Vico, Skillman’s Deputy Project Manager participated in the EACEA Networks and partnerships of VET providers kick-off meeting in Brussels, presenting the SKILLNET project among other selected proposals. The event was attended by representatives of the agency and partner leaders, thus proving to be a powerful occasion to seal valuable professional relationships within the VET sector.

The day started with a brief introduction by Tapio Saavala, Deputy Head of EACEA, and after him some comments were shared on policy context and European priorities by Anna Barbieri, from the European Commission. Then, the most advanced digital education platforms were explained by the representative of Education and Culture, Markus Rester.

Workshops

The second part of the day engaged the participants into two workshops, where they actively discussed and suggested key ideas about “Contributions to enhancement of VET” and “Project and financial management”.

Giovanni Crisonà, along with Skillman, was rapporteur of one of the workshops, where he coordinated the members and summarized in front of the audience key aspects on how to improve the quality of VET providers, encourage cross-networking, have a strong impact on policy implementation, and share best practices of vocational excellence at EU level. He also emphasized how the Skillman transnational platform is a winning example of the establishment and reinforcement of strong cross-border partnerships and networks in the VET sector.

From the point of view of project and financial management, members also debated to identify typical challenges, assess key factors and suggested viable solutions that included setting up strong monitoring systems and quality control, as well as an effective continuous internal communication among partners. The best ideas proposed were finally awarded by all members.

In the last part, more insights about project and financial management were shared by Lara Paoletti and Jehan Laroche from EACEA, right before bilateral meetings happened among project coordinators and EACEA officers.

During the day, many copies of COVE magazines representing Skillman were distributed: the highly positive feedback from the audience to the Skillman concept showed that it is now ready to go all the way ahead.
