SKILLMAN ALLIANCE: SKILLNET PROJECT KICK-OFF MEETING



The Skillman network is actively involved in the Skillnet project that has the ambitious objective of encouraging the creation of VET providers’ partnerships to improve their quality and efficiency at national and European levels, enhancing their impact and relevance, and building cross-border cooperation for VET quality and attractiveness.

This will ultimately lead to the improvement of the current VET scenario, by improving transnational communication, sharing best practices of excellence in the sector, exchanging knowledge and influencing policymakers.

Some of the topics discussed at the meeting included: 

  • The creation of peer learning clubs.
  • The implementation of VET mobility plans, by pairing VIP, teachers, students, staff members.
  • New ways of valorization of VET, through tools like SELFIE, VET toolkit for tackling early leaving, ECVET Toolkit, EQAVET, ESCO database, VET Mobility Charters.
  • Sectoral skills foresight in the Advanced Manufacturing sector in order to foresee future trends in the VET industry.

The Skillnet kick-off meeting took place in Brussels on December 2nd, 2019, marking the beginning of the Skillnet project and the valuable partnership among members from the following organizations:


Skillman.eu, coordinator and leader of the transnational platform of centers of vocational excellence for the emerging skills in Advanced Manufacturing.

EARLALL, European Association of Regional and Local Authorities for Lifelong Learning, a unique Brussels-based network of 13 European regions.

IVETA, International VET Association for the advancement and improvement of high-quality VET throughout the world.

Cumulus Association, International Association of Universities and Colleges of Art, Design and Media.

The participants shared the stage contributing with insights on initiatives that will be carried out for the project and brainstormed concrete ideas of implementation. 

The Skillnet project is supported by the European Commission in the framework of the Erasmus+ KA3 – Support for Policy Reform with a two-year co-financing. Its official starting date was in November 2019 and it will end in October 2021
