Skills are key for sustainable competitiveness, resilience and ensuring social fairness for all. The coronavirus crisis has highlighted the importance of having the right skills for strategic sectors to perform and for individuals to navigate through life and professional transitions. The Skills Agenda proposed by the European Commission will be launched in November 2020 and introduces a totally new momentum, focused on skilling for a job and including a number of flagships, one for all, the Pact for Skills.
The European Pact for skills aims at mobilising all partners for more and better opportunities for people to train, and encourages stakeholders to unlock public and private investments across industrial and skills ecosystems.

Skillman Declaration
The Skillman network contributes to the agenda with several initiatives that go hand in hand with the improvement of vocational training and lifelong learning activities and, in particular, with the implementation of Peer Learning Clubs, which aim to express some specific observations that will be addressed to the political counterparts.
This process, involving several members of the network, defines the Skillman’s vision for the European Pact for Skills and it is in line with the efforts to mobilize all relevant stakeholders to take real action to upskill and reskill the workforce, by setting up partnerships supporting green and digital transitions as well as local and regional growth strategies.
