OFFICIAL LAUNCH IN PORTUGAL FOR THE FOUR OPERATIONAL GOALS OF THE SIF 2019

The official presentation of the SIF – Skillman International Forum 2019, held the 28th of June at the Lisbon Congress Center was attended by citizens, authorities, entrepreneurs and industry experts.

The event was organised by the national representative of the Skillman network for Portugal, the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Portugal, led by its president Santi Cianci and the director Marcello Menichetti. Fadia Khraisat, representing Skillman Spain and the leader of Skillman Giovanni Crisonà also participated.

The four operational goals of the forum were presented after the welcome message of the Italian ambassador as follow:

  • Skillman ‘action-driven’ model of CoVE – Nature, characteristics and settings of the Centres of Vocational Excellence promoted by the Skillman Network for a green and inclusive ‘game change’ in the advanced manufacturing and sectoral skills development.
  • Curriculum design – Innovative curriculum design in the Advanced Manufacturing sector in coherence with ECVET – EQF framework and ESCO classification and in interconnection and coordination of actions and results with the existing EU tools and initiatives for anticipating and matching skills and jobs.
  • Ethical values, green and inclusion – Capacity building synergies and collaboration to connect the competences necessary for Advanced Manufacturing to the personal responsibility according to the UNESCO 17 goals on sustainable development
  • Transnational mobility and learning – Supporting the cooperation model of the Skillman network with innovative approaches and exchange of good practices in transnational mobility for education and employability.

The session also envisaged a final debate on the meaning and relevance of the selected topics. By tackling them, the SIF conference of October aims to elaborate the Skillman policy paper 2019 to be distributed on a large scale during the European Skill Week (https://ec.europa.eu/social/vocational-skills-week/node_en) scheduled the 14th-18th of October in Helsinki.
